College Council

(a) Composition : 1. Principal - Chairman,

2. Heads of all Departments

3. The Medical Superintendent cum Vice-Principal

4. Dy. Superintendent of teaching Hospital

5. One teacher from Pre & Para clinical Departments and

one teacher from Clinical Departments - nominated as

member of the council by the Principal.

6. Secretary, Burdwan Medical College-Secretary of the

College Council

(b) Functions :

• Discussion & decision on academic matters.

• Major administrative matters.

• Disciplinary matters pertaining to students and selection of

House-staff, Senior Resident and others matters like ragging etc.

1. No. of Sessions per year : Usually, once a month as per Govt. order

and University rules
