INSTRUCTION TO THE STUDENTS OF BURDWAN MEDICAL COLLEGE AND THEIR MOTHERS / FATHERS/ GUARDIANS

In compliance with the directives of the HON’BLE SUPREME COURT OF INDIA, dated May 16, 2007 in SLP NO(S) 24295 of 2006 University of Kerala Vs Council, Principals, Colleges, Kerala & Ors (with SLP(C) No 24296-99/2004 & W.P. (Crl) No 173/2006 and SLP (C) NO. 14356/2005) on hearing of which by Hon’ble Supreme Court a Committee headed by Dr. RK Raghavan, former Director of CBI, was constituted by the apex court to give specific recommendations for effective prevention of ragging in educational Institutions and according to which they said committee carried out detailed study on various factors contributing to ragging, collected public opinion and submitted its detailed report with suitable recommendations and measures required to effectively curb the menace, -it is needless to state that all concerned are required to strictly adhere to the said recommendations, and, accordingly, for co-operation with the college Administration for effectively curbing the menace, all the students getting admission at this medical teaching and their Mothers/ Fathers/ Guardians are hereby instructed to go through the prescribed form provided herewith and to submit the same duly signed and mentioning required details (towards preventive measures ) so that the atmosphere of this prestigious must always remain free from the said menace of raging in the interest of high esteem of education and the values thereof and for the purpose of our societies will-being and also in the interest of public service as a whole.
